Romania may remove telecom-related provisions from ordinance 114

Tuesday 3 December 2019 | 14:15 CET | News
Romania's prime minister Ludovic Orban wants to remove governance ordinance 114's provisions referring to banking, energy, telecommunications and pension pillar II, writes local paper Ziarul Financiar. Orban said opposition party PSD who created the ordinance may submit a censure motion in parliament if they desire.

Called by the former local PSD government "Ordinance against greed," the act increased the regulatory fees paid by telecom and postal operators to 3 percent of their turnover. The entering into effect of this ordinance was followed by an increase in all local operators' prices.
