Romania's Special Telecommunications Service launches 'Call 112' location-based mobile app

Romania's Special Telecommunications Service launched the 'Call 112 (Apel 112)' mobile app which allows the transmission of the caller's location to the Single National Emergency Call System (SNUAU) from the moment an emergency call starts, Romanian telecommunications authority Ancom announced. The app allows rescuers to locate the 112 callers when their emergency calls are generated from their mobile telephone networks. The app uses data (internet access) and GPS services and is free for downloading from Google Play and App Store. To use this app, end-users need to have the data service
