Rome public transport introduces free Wi-Fi

Friday 5 April 2013 | 12:09 CET | News
Rome-based public transport company Atac has launched a trial of its Atac Wi-Fi project, which aims to provide a free internet connection to its passengers. Currently, 20 trams of the models Fiat Roma1 and Roma2 provide travellers with free internet for one hour, plus unlimited browsing on the public transport and tourist information sites of Rome. These trams are being used on lines 2, 3 and 8 and the service will be extended to other lines as well. The multichannel platform can be accessed from any device, mobile or fixed, with internet access, reports local daily Il Messaggero.
