Rostelecom removes 900 km of overhead lines

Russian national operator Rostelecom announced it has completed the first stage of the federal programme on removal of overhead telecommunications lines and the transfer of cables to duct infrastructure. In cooperation with other telecommunications operators, Rostelecom has transferred to underground ducts more than 900 kilometres of overhead lines in 25 cities. The national operator spent RUB 80 million on the project.

Rostelecom offers a transfer to all operators, and the focus is on operators working in cities with more than 500,000 residents. 

The second stage of the programme is planned to start in February and will last until December.
