Wednesday 11 September 2019 | 12:34 CET | News

Russian national operator Rostelecom, in cooperation with the mobile operator Tele2 Russia, has completed testing of its IoT solutions at the St Petersburg-based Kirov Plant, a machinery production company. Network infrastructure of domestic origin was used during the tests.

Information on water and heat supplies was transferred automatically to the production monitoring system of the plant.

Testing was carried out under a strategic cooperation between Rostelecom and the Kirov Plant.

The test data network used the mobile network of Tele2 Russia and equipment from Ericsson. Modems containing SIMs from Rostelecom and supporting NB-IoT were used.

Rostelecom, in cooperation with Kirov Plant, plans to develop the joint IoT solution to be used in other industrial companies in the country.
