Rostelecom to expand Wi-Fi in Archangel

Russian national operator Rostelecom plans to deploy 22 Wi-Fi hot-spots in villages in the Archangel region this year. The hot-spots will be built under the framework of the federal programme to elimination the digital divide in six municipalities. 

Around 748 kilometres of fibre optical lines will be deployed for the purpose. More than 220 kilometres of the lines will be built in the Onega municipality which is based in the Arctic area.
