Rovi debuts MainConcept codec SDK for HEVC standard

Digital entertainment company Rovi has launched MainConcept codec SDK for the High Efficiency Video Codec (HEVC) standard. The H.265/HEVC will enable decrease file size and reduce bandwidth required for streaming or downloading video to tablets, smart phones, STBs and consumer electronics devices. Rovi's codec SDK will enable developers serving the broadcast, professional content creation, mobile and consumer industries to integrate the HEVC standard. Rovi's MainConcept SDKs provide developers with a suite of encoding, decoding, formatting, and streaming technologies for video and audio
