RTP workers want DTT network nationalized

The works council of Portuguese public broadcaster RTP has called for the nationalization of the distribution model of DTT in Portugal, reports Diario de Noticias. The workers want changes to the existing model once Altice group completes its acquisition of Portugal's Media Capital that owns national commercial broadcaster TVI. Two years ago, Altice group bought PT Portugal whose Meo unit is the national DTT network operator in Portugal. The council claims that, at the time, "the capital of Portuguese taxpayers was transferred to a company that has exploited a state monopoly", adding that
