Russia says AngoSat-1 satellite on track for service in April

Monday 12 March 2018 | 11:22 CET | News
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in Luanda that the first Angolan satellite, AngoSat-1, launched in December will enter service in April as planned, despite technical problems at launch, reports news agency Lusa. Lavrov rejected press reports of the alleged disappearance or loss of communication with the Russian-made satellite. The first Angolan satellite, an Angolan state investment of USD 320 million, was launched in orbit in December 2016 in Kazakhstan using the Ukrainian rocket Zenit -3SLB, also involving Roscosmos, Russia's state space company.
