Russian internet penetration rises to 80% in 2019

Russia's internet user base, for people aged 16 and up, totaled 94.4 million at the end of 2019, according to a study from GfK, reported by Comnews.ru. The number grew from 91 million year-on-year. In general, 79.8 percent of the adult population used internet in the country last year. 

The percentage of internet users older than 65 grew by 10 percentage points in the year to 36 percent. The share increased by 3 percentage points to 66 percent for those 50-64 years of age. Changes were insignificant for other age categories.
