Russian M2M market rises 40% in 2013

The size of Russian M2M market totaled 4.8 million Sims last year, reports Digit.ru, citing a study from mobile operator MTS. The figure jumped by 40 percent from the year before. The number of M2M Sims is expected to reach 18.5 million by 2017. MTS said it had an M2M market share of 52 percent in Russia. The number of MTS Sims used for M2M services jumped by 450,000 in the second half of last year to 2.5 million. Over a third (35%) of M2M Ssims from MTS are used in Moscow and St Petersburg.
