Russian minister says delayed return on network investments means 5G development will take time

It is not reasonable to expect a rapid development of 5G technology in Russia, according to Aleksey Volin, deputy minister at the Ministry of Communications, reports Prime. Volin said that Russian operators have not received returns on their investments in 3G and LTE networks yet, and deploying 5G networks would make the operators raise their capital expenditure significantly.
