Russian pay-TV market expands 16% in 2013

The Russian pay-TV market grew by 16 percent in 2013 to RUB 54 billion, reports Tdaily.ru from a study by iKS-Consulting. Satellite operators Orion Express and Tricolor TV led the growth in subscriber numbers, as well as IPTV providers such as national operator Rostelecom. Cable TV subscribers were almost unchanged in 2013, growing by just 1.5 percent. This was mainly due to the decrease in analog TV subscribers at operator MTS.
