Russian smartphone unit sales fall in 8 months; volume up

Smartphone sales declined by 6 percent year-on-year in Russia in the period January-August of this year in unit terms, reports Comnews.ru, citing a study by mobile retail chain Euroset. The number of handsets sold fell from 16 million to 15 million units. Nevertheless, the sales volume jumped by 9 percent to RUB 147 billion. The average retail price of a smartphone surged by 16 percent to RUB 9,600.
