Russian surveillance startup NtechLab raises USD 13 mln in latest funding round

Russian company NtechLab just closed an investment of more than RUB 1 billion (USD 13 million) to further its global expansion, TechCrunch reported. The startup is a developer of biometric technologies that helps analyse footage captured by Moscow's 100,000 surveillance cameras. The five-year-old company sells software that recognises faces, silhouettes and actions on videos. It can do this on a vast scale in real time, allowing clients to react promptly to situations.
