Rwanda building USD 100 mln ICT start-up fund

Rwandan ICT and youth minister Jean Philbert Nsengimana told Ecofin that the country was working to establish a USD 100 million fund to support young ICT entrepreneurs. He said, "We are woking on dedicated financing. It will be a USD 100 fund to resolve the problems of ICT start-ups' difficulties in obtaining bank loans. There are other types of finance, such as angel investors. This is the sort of financing that we want to put in place with a certain number of financial institutions with the support of the national development promotion agency. We hope to launch the fund soon." The minister
