Rwandan fixed telephone users surge by 45% in Q3

The number of fixed telephone subscriptions surged by 44.9 percent over the third quarter of 2017 to 12,645 from 6,960 in the second quarter, according to the latest statistics from the Rwanda Utilities Regulatory Authority (RURA). Tigo Rwanda had the largest fixed telephone market share of 75 percent on 30 September 2017, followed by MTN with 15 percent, Liquid Telecom with 10 percent and Airtel Rwanda "almost zero".
