SABC to focus on streaming to improve fortunes

South African communications minister Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams says as part of its turnaround strategy, the SABC will turn to over-the-top (OTT) or streaming services to so that viewers can watch on their mobile devices, SANews reported. The SABC already streams most of its content on platforms like YouTube, said SANews. It could optimise use of similar platforms to generate traffic and raise advertising revenue, away from its traditional platforms.
