Safaricom cuts call costs within and to South Sudan

Friday 15 May 2015 | 13:25 CET | News
Kenyan operator Safaricom has cut roaming charges for subscribers travelling in South Sudan to KES 10 from KES 65 per minute, Business Daily Africa reported. At the same time, customers making calls to South Sudan from Kenya will also also pay KES 10, down from KES 30. Safaricom has also scrapped a fee that it was charging customers for receiving calls while roaming. The South Sudan roaming rate reduction follows its decision in September 2014 to lower roaming charges for subscribers visiting Uganda and Rwanda.
