Safaricom decries huge losses from vandalised masts

Kenyan operator Safaricom says it has continued to suffer huge losses due to the vandalism to its telecom masts in northern Kenya, the Daily Nation reported. CEO Bob Collymore said 600 masts have been destroyed in different parts of Mandera, Garissa and other counties on the Kenya-Somalia border, in terrorist attacks over the last few months. On 12 December, suspected Al-Shabaab terrorists destroyed Safaricom and Orange Kenya masts in Mandera County.
