Safaricom passes 141,000 homes with fibre in first year

Safaricom has connected over 48,000 residences to fibre in the first year after it formed a FTTH unit, reports Business Daily. The operator said that it has laid over 5,000 kilometres of fibre-optic cable, passing 141,000 homes. The Safaricom home internet unit was formed in May 2017 and supplies fibre and other equipment to households.
