Safaricom provides mobile phones for youth orchestra students

Kenyan operator Safaricom says members of its youth orchestra will receive music lessons through e-learning after the handover of 4G-enabled mobile handsets. Over 80 students make up the orchestra and will now receive music instruction from home, and the first online class started on 16 May. Safaricom CEO Peter Ndegwa said the orchestra draws 45 percent of its students from public schools, 30 percent from the Ghetto Classics programme, and 25 percent from private schools.
