Safaricom to launch KES 20 daily 4G package with Google to get another million customers on smartphones

Kenyan operator Safaricom has announced plans to launch a KES 20 per day 4G smartphone package aimed at customers currently on 2G devices. The package is offered in partnership with Google and is based on insights from the Maisha Ni Digital campaign, during which over 1 million customers acquired 4G-enabled devices. Safaricom aims to get another million customers to upgrade to 4G handsets this financial year.
