Safaricom's M-Shwari targets 10 mln customers by year-end

Kenyan operator Safaricom's mobile phone banking service M-Shwari is on course to hit 10 million customers by the end of December. MD of the product's financial partner, the Commercial Bank of Africa (CBA), Isaac Awuondo, said the bank disburses an average of 50,000 loans daily via M-Shwari, translating to a minimum of 1.5 million loans per month.
