SAfrica govt close to sale of Vodacom shares - report

South Africa is in advanced talks about the terms of the sale of some or all of its USD 2.3 billion stake in Vodacom Group unit, in a deal that could be announced as early as this week, Bloomberg reported citing sources close to the discussions. State-owned Public Investment Corp will probably buy all of the government's 13.91 percent shareholding in Vodacom Group. The purchase will likely be completed in stages, according to the sources who sought anonymity. Treasury spokeswoman Phumza Macanda said by the they are not commenting on what non-core assets are going to be sold to raise money.
