Salesforce buys Tableau Software for USD 15 bln worth of shares

CRM specialist Salesforce has agreed to acquire data-analytics platform Tableau Software in a deal worth USD 15.7 billion in shares. Tableau Software creates visualisations of large data sets so that businesses can spot trends and make decisions. The transaction price is a 42 percent premium over Tableau's closing share price on 7 June. The deal has been approved by the boards of both companies.
