Samsung Pay transaction volume tops KRW 2 tln in Korea

Samsung Pay has exceeded KRW 2 trillion (approximately USD 1.78 billion) in transaction volume in South Korea in the first year since the company launched the mobile payment service on 20 August 2015, Yonhap news agency reports, citing a company statement. Samsung said more than 11 million cards registered to access the service in Korea. Samsung also reports the service reached a total of 100 million transactions across the seven countries where it is available, namely the US, China, Australia, Spain, Singapore, Brazil and South Korea.
