Samsung sells EGP 5.5 bln worth of smartphones in Egypt

Samsung had the largest share of Egypt's smartphone market from January to October 2014, the Daily News reported. It had a 72.9 percent share, or EGP 5.5 billion in sales. A report by consumer research group GFK said Egyptian smartphone sales exceeded 5.4 million units worth EGP 7.6 billion over the period. Nokia took second place with a 7.8 percent market share and sales worth EGP 592.8 million. Sony came third with 7.6 percent of the market and a sales value of EGP 577 million.
