Saraiva to sell e-books operation in Brazil – report

Brazil's largest bookstore chain Saraiva is trying to sell its e-commerce operations, including the promising segment of digital books, industry sources told the Reuters news agency. The company's goal, according to three sources, is to sell the online platform to focus on the chain of 102 retail stores and the publishing activities, businesses with higher margins. The same sources claim that Saraiva has already offered its online activities to several retailers. Saraiva did not want to comment on market speculation.
