Saudi Arabia makes whole 6 GHz band available for Wi-Fi

Wednesday 7 April 2021 | 10:22 CET | News
The Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) said that Saudi Arabia will be the first country in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) to make the full 6 GHz frequency band available for Wi-Fi use. That means there are now 150 percent more open airwaves that routers can use for the new generation of wireless network. By allocating 1,200 MHz of the radio spectrum for WiFi6e, Saudi Arabia has now made 2,035 MHz available for the new generation of WiFi and other licence-exempt technologies, which is more than any country in the world.
