Saudi mobile phone subscriptions reach 48 mln in Q2

The total number of mobile subscriptions reached 48 million by the end of the second quarter, with a penetration rate of 152 percent, reports Saudi Gazette. Prepaid subscriptions constituted the majority (over 84%) of all mobile subscriptions, according to the Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC). Fixed telephone lines reached 3.6 million, of which around 1.9 million or 52 percent were residential lines.
