Monday 4 March 2013 | 09:43 CET | News
The Italian city of Savona will introduce a mobile ticketing service for public transport on 05 March. Passengers can pay their fares via their mobile phones or smartphones by sending an SMS, with no need for prior registration. It can be used by customers of Vodafone Italia, Wind and 3 Italia. The mobile ticketing service has been brought in by public transport company Tpl Linea in collaboration with Netsize, which belongs to the Gemalto group. The province of Savona is the third in Italy after Florence and Bari to have introduced ticket issuing via SMS in collaboration with Netsize.
