SBB gives up on Wally mobile payments, cooperates with Twint

Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) is abandoning its 'Wally' mobile payment project, inside-it.ch reports. SBB has now entered a partnership with PostFinance's subsidiary Twint for a digital wallet. Twint will be available for purchases at train stations. Due to the market entry of Apple and other Swiss companies such as Swisscom and PostFinance, the market environment has changed and SBB decided in favour of a strategic cooperation with a partner specialising in the finance sector, SBB is cited as saying. Customers are due to be able to use their smartphones to order and pay for tickets and
