SBB partners with Nokia to test new rail radio standard

The Swiss Federal Railways has partnered with Nokia to test LTE 1900MHz TDD technology for rail communications in the cantons of Fribourg and Neuchatel. The test will help to define the new Future Railway Mobile Communication System (FRMCS) standard. Nokia has deployed remote radio heads, with tests using rolling stock equipped with measurement instruments.
