SBT endorses Telefonica's decarbonising commitment

Telefonica has announced that its efforts to reduce CO2 emissions have been endorsed by the Science Based Targets (SBT) initiative, confirming they are backed up by scientific criteria and contribute to the Paris Agreement on climate change. The operator has committed to decarbonising by reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 30 percent in real terms by 2020 and 50 percent by 2030. In 2016, the company reduced its emissions by 26 percent while also cutting energy consumption by 34 percent.
