Seaborn Networks completes USD 500 mln Seabras-1 funding

Seaborn Networks has announced the completion of its USD 500 million project funding for Seabras-1, a new Brazil-US submarine cable that will provide the first direct route between Sao Paulo and New York. Seabras-1, owned jointly by Seaborn and global private markets investment manager Partners Group, will have a six-fibre pair system with initial maximum design capacity of 72 Tbps. The system is currently being constructed by Alcatel-Lucent Submarine Networks and is due to be ready for service in the second quarter of 2017.
