Semiconductor market up 5.4% to USD 442 billion in 2020

Tuesday 2 February 2021 | 13:37 CET | News
The semiconductor market grew 5.4 percent year-on-year to USD 442 billion in 2020, giving a better-than-expected performance despite the coronavirus pandemic, boosted by demand for cloud computing and devices for remote work and learning, IDC reported. The DRAM and NAND markets also recovered after a poor 2019, rising 4 percent and jumping 32.9 percent, respectively. For this year, the semiconductor market is expected to advance 7.7 percent to USD 476 billion, as economies begin to open and gradually recover with the help of covid-19 vaccines.
