Semtech helps Italian utility set up IoT network

Italian utility company A2A has selected LoRa wireless technology by Semtech, a supplier of analogue and mixed-signal semiconductors, to launch A2A Smart City, an initiative to promote Internet of Things (IoT) applications. By deploying a low-power wide-area network (LPWAN) and offering resources for the design and implementation of smart technologies, A2A, along with the Smart City Lab, aims to promote the roll out of smart metering, infrastructure, parking, security, healthcare and government applications in Italy.
