Senate approves satellite TV grants for homes without DTT

The French government will provide grants of EUR 250 to help the 150,000 to 200,000 homes that will not be able to receive DTT to purchase satellite TV equipment when the analogue signal is switched off in November 2011. The measure has been approved by the Senate during the definitive adoption of a bill to combat the digital divide, writes AFP. The minister for the digital economy, Nathalie Koscuisko-Morizet, told the news agency that the grant will be provided to all homes in unserved areas, regardless of their economic resources.
