Senegal regulator launches QoS app to track user experience of wireless networks

Tuesday 10 August 2021 | 09:25 CET | News
Senegal's telecom authority ARTP has announced the availability of an application for Android and iOS devices that enables end-users to test the speed of their mobile and Wi-Fi connections. Named "ARTP Sama Reseau", it aims to help the regulator with its regular assessment of internet quality of service (QoS), based on the collection of anonymised data via a platform linked to the app. Alongside speed testing, the app's advantages for consumers include access to mobile coverage information, allowing them to visualise the presence of 2G, 3G, 4G and, in future, 5G networks.
