Serbia to invite bids from mobile operators in H1 2014

Serbia will be able to invite bids from mobile operators for spectrum freed up by the digital TV switchover in the first half of 2014, trade and telecommunications minister Rasim Ljajic told broadcaster B92. A revised frequency allocation plan has been sent to the relevant institutions for approval, he said. He expects to sign the plan before the deadline expires for appeals against the Broadcasting Agency's (RRA) decision not to award the national broadcasting frequency previously used by TV Avala, and before the RRA makes a final decision on the matter.
