Vendor revenue in the worldwide server market declined 0.4 percent year-on-year to USD 13.4 billion in Q2, according to a report by IDC. Overall server market growth recently slowed in part due to a pause in hyperscale data centre expansion and is feeling the continued drag from high-end server sale declines. In addition, the robust enterprise refresh cycle of 2015 will create difficult comparisons in 2016 to the prior year's quarterly results, researchers said. Worldwide server shipments increased 2.6 percent to 2.4 million units in Q2 when compared with the same year-ago period.
