Service becomes main e-commerce attraction in DACH - study

Price used to be the prime reason to shop online, but now, consumers in the DACH region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) cite extensive service provision as a factor, according to Cologne's E-Commerce-Center (ECC). An ECC study in conjunction with Hybris and Unic, entitled 'Success factors in e-commerce – Top online shops in Austria and Switzerland,' found 70 percent of people in Austria and nearly 65 percent in Switzerland said that a comprehensive service area on a shop's webpage is absolutely or very important.
