SES, Arqiva sign LatAm HD sports distribution deal

SES has announced a deal with UK network and media services company Arqiva to provide capacity on its NSS-806 satellite for the distribution of premium sports content across Latin America and the Caribbean. The capacity will be used primarily for distributing English premium sports content in HD and Ultra HD to broadcast networks throughout the region, said SES. The NSS-806 satellite at 47.5 degrees West is mainly used for Latin American cable broadcasting in C-Band. It will be replaced by SES-14 in 2017, which SES said will bring augmented capacity to serve growing video neighbourhoods in
