SFR adds appliance control to connected home service

French mobile and broadband operator SFR has added heating and electricity control functions to its Home by SFR connected home service, which it introduced in June 2012 only with home security applications. Developed with in-building electrical systems group Legrand, the functions include controlling blinds and electrical appliances. The Home by SFR equipment bundle is promoted at EUR 1 after a EUR 98 rebate. The system is controlled from a PC, smartphone or tablet, with iOS, Android and WAP apps. The "Centrale Home" server connects to the internet via the customer's gateway box. The service
