SFR fined EUR 46 mln over pricing in Reunion, Mayotte

The French competition authority has fined operator SFR and its Reunion subsidiary SRR EUR 45.94 million for abusive pricing practices during over 12 years in Reunion and over 3 years in Mayotte. The operator was charging up to EUR 0.24 per minute more for off-net calls than on-net calls in Reunion and up to EUR 0.26 more in Mayotte. It also cost between EUR 0.03 and EUR 0.10 more to send an SMS to another network than to another number on the same network. The competition authority found that the price differentiation was not justified by the operator's costs. Call prices were over 3 times
