SFR screens 'The Medici' series, co-financed by Altice

SFR's SVoD service SFR Play started screening the 'Medici: Masters of Florence' TV series on 25 October, reports Challenges. Created with a budget of EUR 24 million, this first season was co-financed by SFR's sister company Altice Studios and stars Dustin Hoffman as historical character Giovanni de Medici. Financing the series, Altice secured the rights to screen it in France, Belgium and Luxembourg, with a 30-month exclusivity period. The group has already committed to financing a second season, in what Challenges describes as a sign of Altice's growing ambition in original content
