SFR to stop selling Android 4.2 STB on 1 April

French operator Numericable-SFR will stop selling the SFR 'TV decoder with Google Play' product on 1 April, the operator confirmed to Cubic after an initial report in Next Inpact. Customers currently using the Google Play decoder will be able to continue to do so. The decoder ran Android 4.2, the precursor to Android TV, but its old processor was prone to slowdowns and chronic incompatibility problems.
