Sharp rise in Spaniards changing operator - study

The number of Spaniards changing their telecoms provider saw a sharp increase in the third quarter of 2013 compared to the year-earlier period as customers sought out cheaper deals, according to sector regulator CNMC. Over the quarter, 17.2 percent of mobile customers changed their operator, up from 11.7 percent a year earlier, and for internet services (both fixed and mobile) the rate was 17.4 percent, up from 13.3 percent. Price was the principal motivating factor cited by users for changing provider, at 64.4 percent for mobile users, up from 52 percent a year earlier, and at 71.7 percent
