Shaw Q3 revenues rise 1.9% boosted by mobile additions, but profit still hurt by IP licensing costs

Friday 25 October 2019 | 15:38 CET | News
Canadian operator Shaw Communications reported a record number of subscriber additions in the fourth quarter, pushing new customer numbers to 266,000 during the year. Still, although revenues for the fiscal quarter to end August increased 1.9 percent year-on-year to CAD 1.35 billion the net profit went 14.8 percent lower to CAD 167 million, or CAD 0.32 per diluted share, still hurt by IP licensing costs. Free cash flow improved over 45 percent to CAD 45 million while capex declined to CAD 382 million from 433 million.
